WORLD SCRABBLE CHAMPIONSHIP
The World Scrabble Championship (WSC) is a biennial event attended by the top players representing various countries in the world where English language Scrabble is played competitively. The next WSC is due to be held in 2007. The exact date and venue will only be announced at a later date.
SA will be selecting 3 players to be Singapore's representatives in the next WSC. SA has set the qualifying period for WSC selection to be from 1 August 2006 to 31 July 2007. Games in rated tournaments held within this qualifying period will count towards the eligibility and selection of the representatives.

An alternate will also be selected, as a possible replacement for any of the three Singapore representatives in the event that any of the representatives are not able to play in the WSC. The alternate will be the next-highest-rated player who is eligible (as determined by the same eligibility criteria above) and has not earned a WSC spot by any of the three criteria above.
If any of the WSC spots are vacant because the player declines, is ineligible, or more than one of the criteria apply to one same player, the spot will be offered to the alternate and a new alternate chosen by the same method above.
