2015 WYSC qualification

The 2015 World Youth Scrabble Championship (WYSC) will be held at University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth on from 31^st October to 2^nd November 2015.

Eligibility

A youth player is eligible to represent Singapore at WYSC 2015 if he or she is:

an SA member and a Singapore citizen or permanent resident from the end of qualifying period (QP) to the commencement of the WYSC;
is born on 1^st January 1998 or later;
has played a minimum of 16 SA-rated games during the QP;
has played in at least two different SA-rated tournaments during the QP;
and has a minimum SA rating of 1500 at the end of the QP.

Qualifying Period

The QP is from 13^th March 2015 to the conclusion of the 2015 National Championship or 3^rd August 2015 whichever is earlier.

Treatment of Byes

Byes will not be used in the calculation of ratings. Byes awarded to a player will count towards the 16-game minimum requirement; byes conceded by a player will not count towards this.

Selection Criteria

The places available to Singapore will be offered to eligible youth players after the conclusion of the QP from the highest-rated in descending order. Any spots available as players decline or become ineligible will be offered to reserves in descending order by SA rating.
